Dec-29-06  Kangaroo: The same check <36 ... Re1+> works in the final position as well: <37.Rxe1 Qxe1+ 38.Kg2 Qg1#>

Why did <<Black> resign> then?

WTHarvey: Fwiw, 35...Re1+ is a mate in 3: 36.Rxe1 Qxe1+ 37.Kg2 Qg1# After 36.g7 Black can mate in the same manor. D'ya suppose the game was lost on time or is 1-0 a misprint?

WTHarvey: Maybe but if so wouldn't 30...Ke8 make more sense?
Dec-29-06  chesslearning: <WTHarvey>, good point.
