31...♕h3# is better.

fredthebear: I found the improvement too, <WTH>. My "Spearheads" collections inspired by a painful loss has improved my use of the queen; in this case the 31...Qh3# is a rather easy find.

However, I consider 31...Bh3+ a "perfect" move in a practical sense because it leads to a forced mate. When one finds a forced mate, and one is sure it is forced, it's not necessary IMHO to "look for something better (quicker)." Many would disagree, and say the fastest way to win is the best way, but if one has found a clear, forced way to win, why look for something "better"? A clear win is a clear win, and looking for something faster could hastily backfire in other more complicated positions. Looking for an improvement is a good habit, but too much creative planning exposes one to risky oversight. Stop looking and take the sure win if you're sure it's an irrefutable win.

On the other hand, "check ALL possible checks -- it may be mate."
