Jun-21-06  imaginapolis: The more I look at it, the uglier it seems... 40. Ne5 is a win blundered away. Instead 40. c7 decides.
Jun-22-06  LuckyBlunder: I don't think it's very clear ... 40 c7 is met by 40..Kg7, and from then on if black plays carefully I think it can get an equal position (41 Kd1, Rc3, 42 Nxb6 axb6, 43 Rd7 b5! ..). I wonder if anyone with crafty can provide some more reliable lines, though

Ne5 was the second choice, and it only gives 0.35.

Jun-22-06  harcee sarmiento: yes people you are right. 40.c7 is defanged(sorry for using this word) by 40...kg7.
