Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-21-08  M.D. Wilson: Karpov's record against Polugaevsky, a master of the Sicilian, is extraordinary: 9-0, with a host of draws. Pretty damning stats by any measure.
May-14-11  Everett: Karpov's sense of restriction does not fail him, after he systematically paralyzes three of black's pieces by move 21 (Nd7, Bc8 and Ra8) and the fourth piece black moves (21..Qh4) gets hunted mercilessly. Yet, look at the pawn structure: white four pawn islands, while black has a tidy two.

Interestingly, this is a strange amalgam of the poisoned-pawn and dragon from black.
