Oct-19-06  chessmoron: Why didn't black go for 30...Qxa4 or 31.../32.../33...Rxd2? Finish him already, jeez.
Oct-19-06  Ashram64: damn, i always miss the queen trap...
Oct-19-06  DWINS: Black misses a mate in 8 with 31...Rxd2 32.Rexd2 Nxf4+ 33.Rd3 Nxd3 34.Bc5 Qxc5 35.Rd2 Nc1+ 36.Re2 Bxe2+ 37.Ke1 Qe3 38.e5 Nd3#
Oct-19-06  dzechiel: Missed this one completely.
Oct-19-06  syracrophy: I missed this one, also, completely :-( I always miss this kind of traps to trap the queen
Oct-19-06  think: I saw that the Rook on b2 would be killer, but missed Bb5. For some reason, I was thinking Rfd1.
Oct-19-06  Confuse: <chessmoron> some chess players channel their murderous tendencies through chess. a sad story but thats how it is. oh yeah, and missed this one : (
Oct-19-06  ForeverYoung: Checking the loot I noticed that black is a piece up and settled for 27 ... Bxd2. On 28 Qxd2 Qxd2 should win the long run, while if either Rxd2 then ... Rb2!
Oct-19-06  prinsallan: <dzechiel> Nice to hear Im not the only one. I was totally cofused this morning and thought about c3?? Very bad move, losing a minor no matter what ;/

al wazir: <ForeverYoung>: I couldn't see anything wrong with 27...Bxd2 either, although black is up a ♙, not a piece. But "When you find a good move, look for a better one."

So I tried 27...Bc5. After 28. Bxc5 Qxc5+ 29. Kf1 I would have played 29...Nb2. Then if white played 30. Rb1 or Rc1, I would have continued 30...c3, winning the exchange

Oct-19-06  mig55: I saw Rb2,and then i looked for a move to remove the blach B and i found Bc5 and Rb2...I didnt look further..I thought white could resign then..
Oct-19-06  vibes43: A teriffic move. Didn't see it. Thought I had something with 27...c3
Oct-19-06  ahmadov: Isn't 28.Nf3 a better move than Bxc5? I am not sure, but it looks better.
Oct-19-06  alfilbueno: <ahmadov> If 28 Nf3 Rb2 also gets the White queen trapped.
Oct-19-06  ahmadov: <alfilbueno: <ahmadov> If 28 Nf3 Rb2 also gets the White queen trapped.> Yes, but then 29.Qxb2 Nxb2 30. Rxb2, which is better than what happened in the game. Queen is exchanged with one rook and knight.
Oct-19-06  eblunt: <Ahmadov> But after 28 Nf3, what about 28 .... Bxd4+ 29 Nxd4 Qb6 ! 30 Qc3 Rfd8 winning the pinned Knight. black forgets the Queen trap and wins a Knight instead
Oct-19-06  ahmadov: <eblunt> I have to check that, but it is still better than having a knight against a Queen.
Oct-19-06  eblunt: <ahmadov> True. I was just pointing out a better line for black against your Nf3 defence, which would have White resigning in 4 or 5 moves anyway.
Oct-19-06  ahmadov: <eblunt> I understand you and fully agree with you.

Oct-19-06  ahmadov: By the way, I also understand that it is easier to offer moves now than making the most correct moves while playing ;).
Oct-19-06  rookattack: Cant 28.Nf3 be refuted by 28...Rb2 29.Qxb2 Rxb2 30.Rxb2 Rfd8 and white loses an extra bishop?
Oct-19-06  rookattack: i am an amateur in chess. Can someone please explain me the significance of 5.Bb4+. Doesnt it just help white to develop a piece.
Oct-19-06  Tariqov: I am not to smart in this opening but i think it is to divert the white bishop to a less useful square(i.e Bd2 instead of Bb2)
Oct-19-06  eblunt: <rook attack> .... 30 Rxb2 Rfd8 doesn't win the bishop , White can play 31 Rb1 and 32 Bxc5. Blacks d8 Rook still has to protect the back row.
Oct-19-06  greensfield: Missed it. Looked at 27...c3 and 27...Rfd8.
<DWINS><nice mate you found with 31...Rxd2 >
