Apr-12-07  Murphyman: This is interesting - It looks as if the World No 4 (from the Jan 2007 ratings), a 2750 plus player and a possible future world champion has started to play the Pirc Defence.

Mamedyarov must be the highest rated player to be playing the Pirc. I wonder how often we will see it in his repertoire.

Apr-12-07  Avarus: If you compare positions from 12. move to 20. move, you get a feeling white lost track of the game. If black can play Nb8-a6-c7-b5-d6xe4 - almost as one move (if you look at the position, white didn't exactly improve much), is white really over 2500? The end isn't much better, although probably in time trouble.
