Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-02-07  bangkokgambit: I always admire the fighting spirit of Judit. Go Judit !
Jun-02-07  MJW 72: I hope Bareev does not get easily killed off by Leko. That would show that female chess is a total joke. There is no one else besides Judit near the top.
Jun-02-07  arunjangity: <mjw> i don't agree, the "transitive property" does not apply to chess or most other games. there are many instances where person #1 can beat #2 easily, and #2 can beat #3...yet somehow #3 can beat #1.

in this case it doesn't matter either way. leko has a heavy plus record against polgar, as does bareev after 1996...so if either one wins, i say it doesn't prove anything about judit. your thoughts?

Jun-02-07  Big Rab: <arunjangity> agree whole heartedly it's very much an "on the day" thing, how the player feels, what preparation they have done, how the other player feels,is it an early start ,etc, etc. What you accomplish today may or may not be repeated tomorrow. There again I may or may not be talking utter c**p as i am just back from pub and slightly inebriated.
Jun-02-07  MJW 72: Ya, you guys are right. The only way it would prove anything is that if Leko starts off 4-0 or sometime like that. But that won't happen. Anythig less and you can blame on the rain.
Jun-03-07  sanyas: Wasn't Polgar nearly winning after 20...♘b3? But around ten moves later the advantage dissipated. Perhaps 22...♖8c4, or 25...h4?
