Oct-13-09  holy tramp: This is the best response to crushing the Grob and is the simple, inexorable answer as to why Masters mock it. C. F. Bloodgood ate club players alive with it for a while (while falsely inflating his rating), but once an opponent plays 5...Nf6 and then 6...Qc8, the Grob becomes a Kamakazi death wish as black counters with queenside brutality. Happens every time-- but in nearly every response to the Grob and Fritz Gambit other than this correct textbook response above, black gets punished. It's always such a razor's edge with these crazy gambits. Possible pun for this illustrative game, "Thomas got hit man, from Hurn"
Feb-21-14  Shams: Very capable play from Black here. I don't believe this rating.
