Aug-22-07  cannibal: Who says exchange Slavs have to be boring? Nice breakthrough by Smeets with 19. ...e5! and 20. ...Rxd5! However, Nikolic's opening play looks dubious to me; he invited that pawn break by messing up all his castling opportunities.
Aug-25-07  kingsindian2006: i like 26....Nxe2 , whites king or queen cant take it.. because then queen is pinned next move.. or am i missing something????
Aug-27-07  aazqua: Nikolic is a piker. Smeets is the real deal.
Aug-31-07  TheaN: <kingsindian2006: i like 26....Nxe2 , whites king or queen cant take it.. because then queen is pinned next move.. or am i missing something????>

Don't go wrong there: 26....Nxe2? 27.Qxe2 Re8 28.Re4.

Aug-31-07  kingsindian2006: <TheaN> now how does white play Re4...both rooks are on back rank....lol.. i might be wrong but not because of your idea..
Aug-31-07  Avarus: <kingsindian2006> White has 26.Rg4 already, this rook then goes to e4 in <TheaN>'s line
Sep-04-07  TheaN: ....which is the reason for the played 25....Kf8 (defending e8) and 26.Rg4 (interposing at e4 for the upcoming threat).
