Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-16-07  qskakaley: What went wrong for Kamsky after 28.Rxa4 ? Was the position not as even as I thought? I'm not sure why (and how?) 31.Raxb4 was best?
Nov-16-07  thom: After move 39 Karpov would need half of Jakovenko moves to win.
Nov-16-07  randzo: Kamsky is the worst player in Tal Memorial. He did 2 big blunders today. He has nothing(positional play, atacck, defense)He will be the worst player in this tournament
Nov-16-07  randzo: sorry 3 blunders
Nov-16-07  zealouspawn: I would rather see what Hikaru could do in this tourney
Nov-16-07  Jim Bartle: It's just one game, I know, but this is a pale shadow of the Kamsky of 1995.
Nov-16-07  Riverbeast: His opening looked funny I didn't like the whole 14. Qb3 and 15. Qc2 business
Nov-17-07  BlackNightmare: CRAZY GAME! could therev been less moves to win for black?

Peligroso Patzer: Was this a time forfeit?

White's position is obviously difficult (being down a Rook for one pawn), but with Black having no pawns left, I would have expected Kamsky to try to defend the final position. (Or am I missing an immediately winning plan for Jakovenko?)

Nov-18-07  Hot Logic: Well Jakovenko would simply need to use his superior forces push away the white king, activate his won king and win the pawn. After that an exchange or two leads to the elementary K+R vs K mate.
Nov-18-07  e4Newman: 31.Raxb4 is too deep (or foolish) for me to understand. And what's with 22.Nf1?? Doesn't 22.axb5 gain a tempo after the queen retreats?
