Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-18-08  whiteshark: What a pity that they didn't play on!
Jan-18-08  Resignation Trap: I have never seen 7...Nh5!? before this game. It looks like a way to infuse new life into an old variation.
Jan-18-08  Shams: does Anand intend on winning any games this tournament?
Jan-18-08  Kangaroo: To <<whiteshark>: What a pity that they didn't play on!>

The final position looks (in my opinion) as slightly better for black, neither wanted to take extra risk, which is understandable.

Je suis d'accord avec toi!

Jan-18-08  nimzo knight: <kangaroo> what makes you think position is better for black ?? With 7 out of 8 pieces of on board I don't see the point of draw. If they didn't want any risk why not agree for draw on move 1.

It is my perception of the position. You have the undeniable right to agree or disagree.

Jan-19-08  Avarus: At least the end position had _some_ imbalances, a disappointing early draw.
Feb-13-08  Alphastar: <Resignation Trap> Usually black plays 6. ..Nd7, so as to prevent 7. Ne5.

Here white could simply have tried 7. Ne5, whereas to 7. h4, Nh5!? is a perfectly ok continuation.
