Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-20-08  percyblakeney: The last dozen moves do seem a bit unnecessary, Bacrot must have been hoping for a win on time.
Jan-20-08  arnaud1959: 90 pts. less than Bacrot and a young woman, but she deserves more respect than this. Bacrot should have proposed draw a lot earlier. Maybe he had hard time to accept that white could make no progress.
Jan-20-08  dabearsrock1010: <perceyblakney> The last dozen unnecessary? How about the last fifty? But I'm not the kind of person who dislikes when players do this, I think they have every right to play for a win even in an obviously drawn position
Jan-21-08  utrarapido: After 76..Kg7 (!) Bacrot should have agreed to the draw.
Jan-22-08  Udit Narayan: <utrarapido> Even a patzer can see that 76...Kg7 is practically forced (the only alternative is 76...Kh7 which leads to a straightforward win for white).
Jan-22-08  Valmy: Etienne BACROT said on his website that he played until stalemate because Koneru offered him draw at move 13. I assume he was annoyed..."J’ai continué jusqu’au pat car elle m’avait proposé nulle au 13ème coup" from : chess22.fr
Jan-22-08  Shams: too much male pride in this tournament. yeah, the lower rated player offered a premature draw. get over it.
Jan-23-08  dramas79: after move 81, even the score looks hilarious
