tamar: The draws computers were finding after 33 Nc6 were based on counter-attacks on f2 after Re1+ Re2, but Leko has chosen a purely defensive route, probably lost.

tamar: <Stonehenge> No pee jokes, Open Defence is present :-)
Mar-06-08  Wild Bill: I think <36...Kh8> was a mistake. <36...Bh8> might have been better.

After <37.Nf5> Black has to take the Knight.

Mar-06-08  radu stancu: Ouch, Fritz doesn't like Bxf5 and neither do I. Giving white two passed pawns seems like asking for trouble...

chancho: Leko is in deep doo doo.

Domdaniel: Desperation, I suspect -- hoping the g- and f-pawns can get at the white king.
Mar-06-08  radu stancu: I wonder if Leko missed the fact that he couldn't take the f5 pawn because of the mate threat... He was in big time trouble, so it's possible.
Mar-06-08  marcwordsmith: poor Leko! I hope he has a strong tournament soon.
Mar-06-08  whiteshark: Then it's a <Deffi's Offence>

Mar-06-08  marcwordsmith: Raa7 now for Topalov?

Open Defence: I can see a Rook limbering up
Mar-06-08  MindCtrol9: <I just get here,and I see that Black is lost>
Mar-06-08  Fiberking: f6 now, wins (among other ways)
Mar-06-08  MindCtrol9: <41.Raa7 is the move tha wins right away>

Open Defence: and now Topa has one hour to calmly get a coffee, the bar girl's phone number and then shake hands
Mar-06-08  marcwordsmith: of course Raa7 DOES permit Black to take at f5--not a bad trade for him at first glance (for the h pawn)
Mar-06-08  MindCtrol9: <With <41.Raa7> White goes to a final that it very easy to win.
Mar-06-08  whiteshark: With <41.f6> Topa takes a shortcut. :D
Mar-06-08  percyblakeney: Amazing how Topalov lines up wins against Leko, this will be the seventh decisive game in a row between them that is won by Topalov.
Mar-06-08  MindCtrol9: <I keep my opinion of 41.Raa7>
Mar-06-08  MindCtrol9: <Black is against the ropes anyway.Its King is cut,etc.>

fm avari viraf: A big blunder would be 41...Rf7 42.Ra8+ Rf8 43.Rg7+ Kh8 44.Rxf8#. Actually, this type of Rooks ending happened in one of my games.
Mar-06-08  whiteshark: <MindCtrol9: <I keep my opinion of 41.Raa7>> True 2 ♖♖ reaching the 7th rank is 'Seventh Heaven' causing some havoc.
Mar-06-08  MindCtrol9: <Black is completelly lost, even for any who begins to play chess>
