Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-13-10  cehertan: I had the bad habit in my career of occasionally missing moves that could have won all his pieces! (see the shamkovich game, and my 1st loss to GM Patrick Wolff). When I showed the game to Norwegian GM Jacob Aagard he immediatley spotted 27...d3! 28.Nc3 d2+! 29.Bxd2 Rxd2! 30.Kxd2 Qxf2+ 31.Ne2 Rxb2+, lights out. I would find this line easily now after writing forcing chess moves. (after all, it only requires looking at the most forcing moves first!) Still, I'm fond of the positional piece sac 13...0-0! It felt like the right way to play against that silly king on d1.
Oct-13-10  Jim Bartle: What about 27...d3 28. Be3?
Oct-20-10  cehertan: Hmm, I'll have to pull out the analysis set--maybe 28...Rxb2.
