Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-25-09  atahualpa yupanqui: another great game by Drawlsen "the drawmaster"

now talking serious seem like they don't really want to play,I don't know if they are lazy or busy but I'm sure they don't give the 100% of their capacity and it piss me off.

anyone think like me?

Jan-25-09  hedgeh0g: Actually, so far, it's tended to be his opponents who manage to draw against him rather than Carlsen playing for draws all the time. Maybe both players wanted a break and decided to settle for a short draw. Neither Kamsky nor Magnus are known for consistent short draws, so I don't think it's a particularly big deal.

The only thing that annoys me is that Magnus has yet to chalk up a win...

Jan-25-09  Marmot PFL: They are saying that Carlsen was not feeling well so Kamsky (always the gentleman) agreed to the draw.
Jan-25-09  lost in space: at least at Corus Carlsen is Drawsen.
Jan-25-09  Strongest Force: This is why i like fighters like Korchnoi. He would not care if his opponent wasn't feeling well... he would take the pawn and play on until he either lost or won. Pre-WW2 people learned how to fight just to stay alive.
Jan-25-09  Jim Bartle: I'll bet the Kamsky of the 90s would never give the slightest break to an opponent. His father would have whipped him. In fact, as I remember Rustam often contributed to Gata's opponent not feeling so well.
Jan-25-09  Strongest Force: JB -- LOL!
Jan-25-09  timhortons: im sure magnus well secure a win before these tourney is done.

he need to improve his tournament result too, when was the last time he win a tourney?

Jan-25-09  Eyal: <The Carlsen - Kamsky game was a short, yet very eventful draw. White played the absolutely shocking and seemingly impossible 9.e4!!? The next few moves were forced, and black had to show both restraint (not being greedy with a capture on c3), and efficiency (going for the only plan of 9...Nd6 to enable castling). 12.Ne5 also looked best as 12.cxd5 would have been answered with 12...Nxc3! followed by 13...Nxd5 and 14...Nb4. The next crossroad was move 13, where white could have tried 13.c5, but after the game Gata said that after 13...Nf5 his follow up plan of ...0-0, with ...Ne7, ...Nd7 and ...f6 would be fine for black as well. White accompanied his 16th move with a draw offer that was accepted. There was not much else as if Magnus tried 16.Qb3 there would follow 16...Nb4! 17.Bxb4 Qb6 with complete equality.> (http://www.coruschess.com/report.ph...)

Jan-26-09  Wade Keller: All these draws are perhaps a good argument for scoring of: Loss - 0, Draw - 1, Win - 3. Is there an actual name for that scoring systems? Could it become standard?
