Mateo: Another typical win for Andersson, a textbook example of how to win an equal ending against a weaker opponent. 56...Bc8? could be the losing move, instead of 56...b4+ 57.Ka2 which holds, as far as I can see.

The all point, after 56...Bc8? is that 57...Be5 (57...b4+ 58.Ka4) 58.Bxe5 dxe5 59.Kb4 Bd7 60.Kc5 Kf6 61.Kd6 Be8 62.Bf3 wins for White, zugswang.

58...Be5 loses too. 59.Bxe5 dxe5 60.Kb4 Kg5 61.d6.

Sep-23-10  Ulhumbrus: 50 Kd3!! begins to take the King on a journey towards the square a3 after which Black's KB is overworked. It can't both keep White's King out of b4 and keep White's QB out of the square f4.
