Mar-08-09  notyetagm: Wow, what an ass-kicking by Nyzhnyk!
Mar-08-09  fromoort: Yeah. Simple enough tactic at the end, but his development of the initiative was almost Morphy-like.

Indeed.

Mar-09-09  jon01: I guess black didn't have to lose that piece in the opening. The final shot is nice though.
Mar-10-09  Bears092: I put this through my computer to look for alternatives when the piece drops and it came up with a much more fun continuation for white on move 10.

10. Nxe5 Bxf2+ 11. Kxf2 Qh4+ 12. Kf1 Bxd1 13. Nxc6+ Kf8 14. Bxd5 Bxc2 15. Bd2 Bxd3+

The computer evaluates it as a full point better for white. I'm not a master or anything, so I dunno how accurate that is, but I always enjoy the 3 pieces v. Queen + 2 pawns unbalance

fredthebear: SF says 10.Bg5 is best.

This 10.Nxe5 turns out well for White: P Clemance vs I Mitchell, 1976
