Jun-03-23  YoungEd: More of a fortunate win for Black than a great game throughout, but the pun deserves a tip of the hat.

  HeMateMe: Excellent pun.
Jun-03-23  Honey Blend: 39. ♕xf3 would have forced 39. ... ♕xf3 (of course not ... exf3?? 40. ♖xe8#) 40. ♖xf3 exf3 41. ♖c7 which looks quite drawish.

Whilst not great, I found the game entertaining enough. Yes, Black got lucky but luck has a part to play in most wins.

Black's first big slice of luck was that White chose the timid <28.g3?> (presumably to avoid ...Qxb4) before playing Nd6. Aside from giving away a pawn and forcing Black's Q onto a better square it created holes around White's K that Black was able to exploit after the exchange sac.

The same exchange sac would have yielded nothing if White had simply played 28.Nd6 straight away whilst 28...Qxb4 29.Nxe8 Rxe8 would have given White a nice edge even without the brilliant 30.Bxd5! cxd5 31.c6.
