Sep-21-09  LaFreak III: 13.Re1 is basic,I guess the text move 13.Bh4 is to prepare for Bg3 but Bd6 is a good move for that threat, since after 12.Bh4 Bd6, 13.Bxf6 is refuted by Bxh2+ And also I think 14.Kh1 is also worthy like g3,because 14...Bxh2 15.g3 is good for White. 15.Qd3 is also good I think, with the idea of connecting rooks on 1st rank and with the options of connecting it with Queen on d file, and threatening Nb5, attacking the Bishop at d6 and Queen at c7, or 15.Qd3 Be7 and now the move 16.Rfe1 is good for White. The last chance to win this game I think is winning a pawn by 24.Qf4, since it attacks the Queen,Rook,f pawn and the h pawn, which Queen is in overprotection and the check at the back rank is inevitable if Black swaps a Queen leaving him a Rook down. 27.b4 attacks the Bishop at the same time b pawn now is harmless against Qb6 27..Bd6 28.Qxh6+ winning a pawn, But opposite colored bishops maybe a draw with precise play of Black. Lastly, 32.Ke3 is good too.
Sep-21-09  LaFreak III: I think chairman is reviewing this game, overall still it's a very good fight. Go for 7-0 Chairman! Godbless, pray palagi before and after the game whatever result will arise, Not to pray that your opponent may blunder but to pray that you will find the right move just to force a win, whatever move they play. :)

Sep-21-09  pulsar: Reposting in full: "Btw,if anyone would like to look ay my fascinating king and pawn endgame today against Akobian,here is the computer's analysis: 32.Ke3 (instead of 32.h4?)32...f5 33.g4! Ke7 34.a4 Kd6 35.c4 Kc6 (35...Ke5 36.b5! f4 37.Ke2 Kd4 38.b6 f3 39.Ke1 ) 36.a5 Kd6 37.b5 Kc7 38.b6 Kc6 39.Kf4 Kb7 40.h3 Kc6 41.Kg3!!(31.h4 e3! 42.Kxe3 fxg4 allows Black to draw) 41...Kb7 42.h4 followed by g4-g5. This was all given by Rybka 3 and I missed the very instructive Ke3-f4-g3 manoever over the board."
Sep-21-09  Gambitor: These k+p endings are awesome, so simple moves but even a very strong engine calculating several moves ahead can in some cases be useless... what is the veredict, was white winning or not?
Sep-21-09  pulsar: <Gambitor> If GM So's post-game analysis with Rybka 3 is to be considered, White was winning, and the lines provided are pretty convincing. Please click on the link I provided for GM So's posts.
