Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-16-11  ProjectR: Someone tell me if im wrong, but when white plays 22.f4 if blacks responds with 22..Nxf4 sacking the knight temporarilly (even if white realises the mistake, the bishop cant pin the knight to the queen,as black can play 23..Nh3+ and wriggle out a pawn up,opened f file, white's king dangerously exposed!) instead of retreating the queen its game over 4 moves later !!! Iv looked and cannot see a better move...This players rated 2150 and went on to lose this game 12 moves later !!
Sep-16-11  ounos: Playing through the game, I stopped at 22 wondering how white protected against Nxf4. I don't see anything. There is no way black didn't consider the move, she must have seen /something/, even if only a ghost variation.
Sep-16-11  ProjectR: <ounos> Its certainly bizarre because i saw that move instantly,so even if she was in time trouble i really dont see how a Master could miss it !! Saying that if i was actually playing the game myself no doubt id have missed it,as my play of late is really terrible.. Must have just been 2 genuine blunders then...the first one being white playing f4,then the second when black fails to punish the move... Patzers ;-)
