Vassily Ivanchuk, as I know from countless games with kibitzes relayed on FICS, is loved by many for his fighting spirit and creativity. The man emerged in the last years of the USSR and has been, post-91, one of the best GMs of his generation. We love Chucky - there is no disrespect at all, quite the opposite in fact! Karpov has been called Tolya for decades.
