Oct-25-09  Deceptor: 26 of last 29 moves by White were checks.
Nov-09-09  CambridgeSprings1904: ICC members can view a nice video review of this game by GM Joel Benjamin. Some of White's checks were apparently a clock-management ploy, as there was a 30-second increment added after each move. White apparently missed a few wins, including 47.Qd7+. A very interesting game, with dynamic imbalances in the latter half.

Which way to check: g7 or d7? White chose g7 and only drew. After d7, white takes away one of black's escape squares:

1. Qd7+ Kg6
2. f5+ Qxf5
Now:
3. Qg7+ Kh5
4. g4+ Qxg4
5. Qh7#

Jan-12-15  ndg2: Why wasn't that a puzzle already? Would be a good Friday or even Saturday puzzle (or even Sunday, if it starts with move 43).

Richard Taylor: <deceptor> I see you have a collection of Kozul's games in the "suicide" variation. I sometimes play the Nc6 line instead of a6, and I know that Bg5 can happen (Richter), but this line seems like one I tried, why is it called the "suicide" variation? What defines it so to speak?
