Richard Taylor: I'll reveal a secret. Ortvin actually played 28. Qg3?? and as I was about to deliver the coup de grace he asked for the move back! I said o.k. and the game proceeded.

I did that once later in a game and lost it! I also did it in another game and lost but my opponent let me have the game...and signed the game off as a loss whereas I had lost even with a piece up! (That was Tony Booth of HP Chess Club)....

  Richard Taylor: I had seen that he cant play 38. Re8+ to win a piece as then Kf7 39. Rxa8 Rxd3+! 40. cxd3 b2 wins

Richard Taylor: I think Ortvin should have played 9.Be3 which targets my weak pawns. My opening wasn't very good. It was the first time I had seen Bb5. (The Nezmetdinov-Rossolimo)

Richard Taylor: Which means maybe I needed to play 8. ...c4 9. Ne5 which seems better for White.

Richard Taylor: Yes, later on Sarapu missed a lot of ways to win. I burgled the end of that but I think we were both a bit short of time: any excuse! Well, in most other standard games vs. Sarapu I lost. I was not really in his class. But one tries!
