ChessCoachClark: GM Neil McDonald covers the Bishop and Knight Mate in CONCISE CHESS ENDINGS, pp. 284-288. On page 287 he shows a diagram identical to the ending position of this game. He then queries the reader, "Do you see a diamond shape-- or perhaps an ice-cream cornet or a torch?" Then he advises, "Whatever it is, remember the setup and it becomes easier." Stockfish 13 finds M12 from 83. ... Kc7 and M9 from 83. ... Kb7 at depth 111.

fredthebear: Nice to see you again, CoachClark!

I played out the ending for both colors from the point of resignation to completed checkmate in the bishop's corner, then copied and pasted the moves below. Not every move was forced, but still good from a training viewpoint: 83...Kc7 84. Be4 Kd8 85. Kd6 Ke8 86. Bg6+ Kd8 87. Bf7 Kc8 88. Nc5 Kd8 89. Nb7+ Kc8 90. Kc6 Kb8 91. Kb6 Kc8 92. Be6+ Kb8 93. Bd7 Ka8 94. Nc5 Kb8 95. Na6+ Ka8 96. Bc6#

Note that Olga Viewer allows users to continue the game as I have, click and drag the pieces w/the mouse to make the next move to a new square. Other viewers do not allow this mobility, so my finish cannot be played out on other viewers. Select and set your viewer to Olga Viewer, then move each piece to see the finish.
