Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-26-10  piteira8: 27. ... Bf1 is a beautiful move. I have not seen this idea before.
Jan-27-10  brucejavier: wow Bf1, i would have never found that, amazing play by GM hua, by move 27 by white. Seems like white has the advantage with a pawn up and seems to have everything under control but black unleashed Bf1..
Sep-07-13  csmath: Ni Hua forces Akobian to play decisive game sacrificing pawn

21. ... Be8!

then again with

31. ... Rf2

This is typical of new Chinese players with exception of Wang Yue. They are all aggressive and play dynamic chess.

And sure enough Akobian loses patience and the grasp of the position looking for "active" game:

32. e5?

After

37. Nc5?!

white is completely lost but 37. Kf2 also looks like hopelessly lost ending though it would require more precision from black.

Final manouvre with rook is extremely well done and very precise.

Sep-07-13  csmath: Why did Akobian who is fairly aggressive himself played 8.Bb5 line is anybody's guess. This line does not yield any advantage to white and it is considered outdated. In 2000 it would be something of a discussion, in 2010 it is simply inferior line.
