Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-08-13  ughaibu: At move 15, has black got any reasonable move?

offramp: I thought 15...Bd7 might be reasonable. But it blocks in the King; a rook check on the e-file would be deadly.

15...Nb4 doesn't really accomplish anything. Odd to see Flohr squeezed so early in his own opening.

Aug-08-13  ughaibu: I think 15...Ne4 is the only try.
Aug-08-13  Cyphelium: On 15. ♘e4, white can play 16. ♗xe4 dxe4 17. ♘xe4 with the threat of ♘f6+. So 17.- f5 seems forced, but then there's the cheeky 18. d7+ ♕xd7 (18.- ♗xd7 would be sweet) 19. ♘f6+ ♖xf6 20. ♕xf6. This should be winning for white I guess.
Aug-08-13  ughaibu: Right. I'd only thought about winning the exchange by 15...Ne4, 16.Be4 de4, 17.Nh7 Qd6, etc. Your method looks much better for white, as it's easy to eliminate the d-pawn.
Aug-20-13  paul1959: 9 ... Nc5 could be better , forcing White on a decision about the B at d3. It also covers the d6 square a second time preventing the Q from going to h6 as in the game since a N check at d6 would be answered by Qxd6.
