19...Bc8! trapping white's queen and 0-1..

Aug-13-12  Lacplesis: Fail lol. even after 20.e6 Be6 21.Qe5 Bf6 queen is still trapped.
Jun-05-13  optimal play: I can't work out what kind of plan Crewe had in mind with 16.♗xg5? His pieces weren't positioned well-enough to sustain an attack on the King. Simply retreating the ♗ to g3 would have been the prudent decision.

And then what was he hoping to achieve by playing on after losing his ♕? Maybe he thought 19 moves would be too short a game and he just wanted to drag it out a bit longer?

Anyway, Esling was now 2 from 2 along with Charlick & Heiman, whilst Crewe together with Hall & Witton remained on 0 points. Already the difference between the top players in this tournament and the rest was starting to show.
