Jul-08-11  kingfu: This game is a perfect example of how black goes wrong with The French defense.

Look at the position after move 16.

The knights are on c6 and b6.

The bishops are behind the pawns.

The natural flow for White is the King side.

Black does 0-0 and castles into "it".

Stonehenge: <kingfu> Funny, I posted yesterday that I would have played 17...Bxg5 18.hxg5 g6 19.Rh6 Rf7 but then I noticed 20.g4 and deleted my comment.

(I have no engine btw).

Jul-09-11  kingfu: Now there is a secondary issue:

Was this an outcome of the opening?

Or was it because Giri was rated about 300 points above his opponent?

Jul-09-11  crazybird: Maybe it was just because he was 13 at the time.
