Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-16-15  jerseybob: Ozmikey: I like your game up till 10.dc, which brings the black bishop to a better place. 10.Nbd2 or 10.h3 seem better to me. Of course if I'm wrong, I'll plead the "frozen brain defense." It's now 8 degrees(F)here in New Jersey.
Aug-20-15  ozmikey: <jerseybob> You may be right about 10.dc, but I think my real mistake was the nonsensical 16.Nd4? which runs counter to White's previous play...I had to be consistent and take the two bishops with 16.Nc5, in the hope that my control of the dark squares would compensate for Black's greater activity. I'll plead the "sleepy head" rather than the "frozen brain" for that one, as this was one of those last round games with an ungodly 9 a.m. start...

My chief memory of this game is simply that it was my first meeting with a legend of Australian chess and a true gentleman, who was kind enough to share a beer and some recollections with me after the game (including of his encounter with Korchnoi at the 1970 Olympiad).

Aug-24-15  jerseybob: <ozmikey> I'll agree with your assessment of 16.Nd4? White's game falls apart quickly after 16..Nb4! Here's an interesting thought: 16.Nc5,Bc5 17.Rc5,Nb4!? 18.Ne5,Bg2 19.Kg2,Na2!? 20.Qd4!?
