Kibitzer's Corner
May-07-12  Abdel Irada: This game offers an example of *why* white would like to consider 5. a4, but there's only one game with that variation in the database, and it's too deeply flawed to be useful.

Certainly, black gets active play with ...c6 and ...b5, but in principle an early a4 creates some weaknesses of its own. Chessgames.com would serve us well by tracking down some better games that really put that line to the test.

May-07-12  King Death: The admins have enough to do just keeping up with other things that I doubt they have time to "track down" other games.
May-07-12  Abdel Irada: That's a valid point. Perhaps I should have suggested that the site encourage users to track down such games, and then incorporate them into the database.

Who finds the games, after all, isn't the issue. What matters is making the database as functional as possible.
