Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-17-21  optimal play: 18.Nxh7!?

The knight sacrifice looks impressive but I'm not sure it's better than simply playing 18.exf6

In any event, white should certainly have followed up with 19.exf6 since 19.Qh4 is not nearly as threatening as it seems.

22...Ne7? Black is worried about 23.Bxg6+ but better is 22...Kg8 since if 23.Bxg6 then 23...Nf4!-+

27...Kh7? Better is 27...c4 avoiding the check after QxB and capturing the bishop.

e.g. 27...c4 28.Qxb7 Rxh6-+

33...Rh7? Better is 33...Bxf4 34.Rxe8+ Rxe8=

39.Qh4!
