PawnSac: It seems white resigned in lieu of ..Rc2, and justifiably so.

The positional factors are thus:

1. Black has the passer duo, which alone spells game over.

2. White's D pawn is effectively blockaded by the Bd6 which is also poised for K-side attack.

3. White's Bh4 is very badly placed, and trapped if the white Q leaves the b1-h7 diagonal.

The bottom line is.. White can't answer the many threats on both sides of the board.

If...

..Rc2 37. Qf1 Qd2 38. Qg1 g5

..Rc2 37. Qd1? Rd2 or Qd2 38.QxQ RxQ

..Rc2 37. QxR QxR 38. Kg2 (not Kh2, pins G pawn, hangs Bh4) ..a5 and white has no answer to all the tactics. If 39. Qd3 simply ..a4. The pawns can be protected with ..Qb4 and white has no way to stop them. If instead 39. Qb3 Qb4 or ..Qd2+ and ..g5

White is overwhelmed by multiple threats on both sides of the board
