Oct-22-12  Strongest Force: Tiv's a4 was great & if he can follow with b4-b5 he might be on to something.
Oct-22-12  Strongest Force: Still, imho, Nak's sicilian is too reactionary aand not pro-active enough; I.e., you must be booked up.
Oct-22-12  parmetd: Guys I think Bond Villians dress too well and groom too much to look like Tiviakov...
Oct-22-12  lost in space: hmmm, looks drawish now.
Oct-22-12  Eyal: Btw, this is the Hou-Giri game and not Tivi-Nakamura (see the live video: http://www.univechess.nl/live#film).

  moronovich: Yes <eyal> is right.This is Hou-Giri ;)
Oct-22-12  Strongest Force: <lis>, Tiv is better & question is if Nak can draw.
Oct-22-12  Eyal: Naka's fans might be glad to hear that in his actual game he also played the Sicilian, and seems to be doing considerably better than Black is doing here at the moment...
Oct-22-12  hms123: Here is the actual Tiviakov/Nakamura game thus far:

tamar: Fiendishly clever of Tiviakov to feed us the wrong game, so that our collective energy will not be a factor in his defeat.
Oct-22-12  whiteshark: ok lets check if an Admin is around....

tamar: Hou's cautious 25 h3 can be put down to the daunting thought that should she win, Tiviakov's face would appear on her Dancing Rook.

Eggman: <<I hate to be off-topic>>

Must you keep harping on the relevant?

Oct-22-12  hms123: <Eggman>

<Must you keep harping on the relevant?>

I will try to be less relevant in the future. It should be easy enough. That's my usual way of doing things.

tamar: Nice idea by Hou to give up the d5 pawn. The Queen and Knight battery threatens first Nh6+ and the rook is coming in on the d file.

Black has to play accurately to defend.

Oct-22-12  galdur: 26. Nc2 Qf7 27. Nf4 played
Oct-22-12  Ulhumbrus: Black seems weak on the a3-f8 diagonal. How to get White's queen there? One way is 33 Qg3 threatening 34 Qa3+

tpstar: <chessgames.com> Thanks for the live broadcast. =)

<this is the Hou-Giri game and not Tivi-Nakamura> I hope the players know which game they are playing.

This uncertainty must be another anti-cheating tactic.

Oct-22-12  hms123: Shhh. Don't tell anyone.

tamar: Nakamura has that alternately amused and pained expression of "Man, I can't believe this guy is going to slip away"

Meanwhile, Hou has made the control.

Oct-22-12  Ulhumbrus: White has got his queen on the a3-f8 diagonal but by now the black king is no longer boxed in
Oct-22-12  achieve: Yifan and Anish (what a couple!) have played very charming technical chess the past 20 moves - I'm truly impressed, good going Yifan!
