Korora: Sac a crow and RIP enemy King.
Jul-08-24  mel gibson: Super easy Monday - good.
Jul-08-24  stacase: OK so I spent a few seconds looking at 31...Qh2+ . . . and another few seconds trying to figure out what <Sac a crow and RIP enemy King.> meant.
Jul-08-24  Mayankk: Now this is an ideal Monday. 2 move mate with no sidelines.

31 ... Rh1+ 32 Kxh1 Qh2#.

Jul-08-24  saturn2: 9.dxc5?! gives a central pawn
10.Bc7?! gives B for N and an open h file which made the puzzle later.
Jul-08-24  King.Arthur.Brazil: Mondays... 31...Rh1+ 32. Kxh1 Qh2#
Jul-08-24  Damenlaeuferbauer: After long thinking, the Dutch GM Twan Burg finally found the mate in 2 moves with the nice rook sacrifice 31.-,Rh1+! 32.Kxh1,Qh2#. I love Mondays!

alexrawlings: Can anyone explain why black plays <25.. Bc8> please? It seems an unnecessary move to me. Is it a waiting move? Or is there another logical reason to retreat the bishop to the back rank like this?

saffuna: Too easy, even for me.
Jul-08-24  cardaman: @alex rawlings
25. ... Lc8 is useful, because if at once ... h5 then white may reduce the damage with Txd5 and after exchanges Lxd7 will follow. After ... Lc8 the bishop is covered by Tf8
Jul-08-24  Hercdon: Nice and easy
Jul-08-24  Halldor: The King is forced into a corner from which there is no escape.
Jul-08-24  TheaN: This was a near-instant spot. For some reason my eyes instantly went to h1 and not h2: not Monday proper because it's not a sac, so that's probably why.
