Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-10-22  Alan McGowan: This 1924 game is shown to have been played by correspondence, but it would be interesting to know if a source was provided.

Perhaps it was assumed to be a cc game because Freienhagen was involved in the formation of the ICSB in August 1928, the forerunner of the IFSB, founded in December 1928.

The Vossische Zeitung of November 16 1924, p31, reports on the progress of the Winter Tournament of the Schachverein 1876 club in Berlin. The entrants included Dr Schorn and Freienhagen.

Dr Hubert Schorn (Hubert Schorn) was known to be a member of the Schachverein 1876, with K Richter vs Hubert Schorn, 1925 having been played in the same tournament.

Jan-19-22  Chessist: Published in Deutsche Schachzeitung, December 1924, p 283, under the heading "Played in the international Freienhagen correspondence tournament 1924", E. Schorn (Hamburg) vs. E. Freienhagen (Berlin).
Jan-19-22  Alan McGowan: A good 'find' by <Chessist>, who has cleared up that issue.

That's the kind of information that should have been included when the game was submitted to CG. No wonder sources are necessary.
