Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-26-25  nummerzwei: 11. e5! is a notable omission, all the more so having already played 8.Re1. Since 11...Ng4 12.Nxd5 Nc6 13.Bg5 is obviously unsatisfactory, Black really has to play 11...d4 12.exf6 Qxf6:

Of course, this is not one hundred percent clear, but Stockfish proposes the following fascinating continuation: 13.Bg5 Qa6 (13...Bxf3 14.Bxf6 Bxd1 15.Bxg7 dxc3?! 16.Bxf8 cxb2 17.Re8! +,-) 14.Be7!? dxc3 (14...Re8? 15.Bxc5, 14...Rc8 15.Ne4 ±) 15.Bxf8 Kxf8 (15...cxb2?? 16.Bxg7) 16.bxc3!! Bxc3 17.Qc1!

White will be three pawns down, but enjoy huge compensation due to Black's inactivity and weakened king position, e.g. 17...Bxa1 18.Qxa1 f6 19.Qc1 Nc6 20.Qh6+ Kg8 21.h4!

with a decisive attack, e.g. 21...c3 (with the idea 22.h5 Qd3) 22.Ng5! fxg5 23.Bd5+ Kh8 24.Qg5! Kg7 25.h5 Rf8 26.h6+ Kh8 27.Qf6+! Rxf6 28.Re8+ with mate.
