Kibitzer's Corner
May-18-14  paramount: 45.b5 easy or not (easy for me)... this move is the move to study, decent rudimentary move, not so hard to calculate fully... i mean really (fully). it give us the outline how to utilize the passed pawn and how the king would go back to prevent the hostile pawn from queening.

It is no need to give lines here. Just think and calculate and if it is too hard use your engine. You will get use to it. The main point is how to get the depiction of the position in your head.

May-18-14  Moszkowski012273: Black missed his chance to hold equality by not playing the VERY cool 28...Nf4!
May-19-14  paramount: <Moszkowski>
<Black missed his chance to hold equality by not playing the VERY cool 28...Nf4!>

1. In chess if you prefer doing <VERY cool> moves instead uncool moves/safe moves, usually you will end up as a loser.

2. 28...Qf6 is NOT BAD at all. Maybe i myself will do that also because im a very positional player.

3. <missed his chance to hold equality>. Sir, please be aware of your casually valuations and words because that could mislead the reader. 28...Qf6 DOESNT make black lose nor 28...Nf4 would make black win. If you want to make comment about evaluations or analysis or lines, please do the deeper analysis and passing by comments without any basic knowledges about the lines will end up in error

The real culprit here is 35...Rc1?, instead targeting the c2-pawn (which is useless), black better take the precaution move with 35...Rd1! to fill the d-file. Just we have seen Rc1 makes the reverse instead white who dominating the d-file. See after that, the white king penetrate to the black camp through the d-file (44.Kd5), after that there is no way back for black.

cheers mate

May-19-14  Moszkowski012273: My statement was based on fact not opinion, and I only spoke about equality nothing more. Cheers ta you as well.
May-19-14  Moszkowski012273: Oh,,, and by "very cool" I did mean "stronger", just thought I'd mix it up a bit.
May-19-14  Moszkowski012273: Lastly,,, 35...Rc1 is fine. 35...Rd1 IS stronger but not by much at all.
Jul-29-14  Ke2: Fressinet and Yifan are both employing this funny move Be2. The knight on e7 leads to a jamming up of Blacks position, and if d5, easy play against e6.
