HeMateMe: great game. Two connected passers is a Royal Flush.
May-17-14  hellopolgar: Black could have went for 73. ... Kf4 which leads to a rook vs queen ending.
May-17-14  The Last Straw: Aagain!
May-18-14  detritus: Is the maneuver from f3 to h3 starting with 45. Kf2 even necessary? I would have thought having White's king on f3 is the perfect spot to set up connected passers without allowing Black a passed pawn of her own, which is what happened when White's king was on h3. What am I missing here?
May-18-14  weisyschwarz: Krush dominates. Zatonskih's play was skittish.
May-18-14  norami: A look at the endgame explorer reveals that both Svidler and Morozevich have had the Queen against Rook endgame and failed to win it, so Zatonskih should have gone for that.
May-18-14  Riverbeast: Irina really showed her class this game.

This is how a GM grinds a win with white in a must win game...She got a small but workable strategic advantage out of the opening, and milked it to the max

This game shows she's the best player in the field. I hope she wins the title, because she deserves it

May-19-14  Eduardo Leon: <norami> With an additional pawn, white's job is much easier: promote the pawn.
May-19-14  Mudphudder: This is easily the greatest Krush game I have seen.
May-20-14  detritus: OK, figured out what I was missing. I thought the bishop could block any rook checks from a3 or f1, but that just loses outright to Bc5 from Black. Duh.
May-20-14  norami: <Eduardo Leon> White wouldn't have a pawn.
May-20-14  weisyschwarz: <Mudphudder> try this:
