Richard Taylor: Chess dc2 etc Thank you: someone showed me that cheapo mate. Of course most "repectable" Dutch players will know it but it could be handy especially if a computer thinks 2 Bg5 is o.k. so it gets away from the main lines I suppose.
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: Richard 'Taylor: I never said I'd use it :) But it was entertaining and refreshing. Most people are not willing to try new stunts on the board these days and who can blame them?? You can get ripped apart so fast now with the slightest misstep. Rustam is playing Naka a very strong opening. Naka is trying to set up a strong mid-game position, we'll see!
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: Friends, this game is getting "razor" sharp! Stay tuned
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: Uh, speaking of "razor" sharp, I'll bet you Rustam shaved this morning....he's keeping the position as smooth as his chin...not bad :)
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: Naka has just played 1...Bf8. There's no real "good" purpose for this move other than he simply does NOT wish to trade. However, Naka seems satisfied with the position and not willing at this time, to change anything. We'll see if Rustam gets restless with things...
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: 23: h5...anyone?
Oct-28-14  JAMESROOK: Chessdgc2;Richard Taylor
Thank you, gentlemen. Good ideas - I'm an attacking player or at least I like the initiative and I prefer to take my opponents out of their preparation.

I don't comment much on the site but like to follow some games and World Championships. Anyhow, thanks again.

Oct-28-14  PhilFeeley: Black seems cramped. What the eval?
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: White's 1. Bxc5 is a very curious move. Why would White want to give up his DSB for a N here? Black can't capture with ...dxc5 as this wrecks his p-structure. After ...Nxc5, White will likely play Nd4 and then what? Unclear...
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: White's Bxd4 and now, Qa3 seem strange. One thing is clear: Both players are playing for a win and both are willing to take risks to do it. That's impressive at this level and this is the kind of game Naka is so often involved in

Richard Taylor: It is after midnight here so I cant really see anything (literally as my eyes are old and tired) on the boards but it looks complex for sure.

Yes the idea of (sometimes) taking the opponent away from their normal ideas is good. To be used sparingly. I will play it next time I see a Dutch whoever I play.

Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: 24...Ne4. Black invites 25. Qxa7 and also threatens ...d5. White has set himself up to be attacked!
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: 25. Qa5? This seems aimless. Does anyone have a clue as to what White's plan is here? Is she going to c7? If so, why?

Richard Taylor: Maybe it is what he feels is the maximally best place to park his Q so later it might be looking at g5 and more seriously at a7. My machine seems to assess this as about =

Richard Taylor: What K has done is to at least clear a rank for his Q.
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: 26...Bxc6. Here, 27. hxg5 hxg5 28. Nd3 and possibly 29. Nb4, but there's still nothing clear
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: I don't follow either player's game plan here

chancho: Naka slowly taking over the game.
Oct-28-14  Pedro Fernandez: <<chancho>: Naka slowly taking over the game.> Hi my friend, good afternoon (I think you are in Europe, maybe London?), yep! I suspect, by the pos., you're right, i.e. 0-1.
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: Chancho: How is Naka taking over? I don't see a substantial advantage anywhere

chancho: They just agreed to a draw, so it's all moot.
Oct-28-14  Pedro Fernandez: Hi dear <chessdgc2>, well I think <chancho's> appreciation is correct as the couple black pawns on the queenside in combination with a possible attack to the white king should decides, but will see, greetings.
Oct-28-14  chessdgc2: chancho: Naka was slightly more active, but there was nothing promising. tHANKS CHESSGAMES.COM!!!
Oct-28-14  Pedro Fernandez: Well, I was mistaken, this not strange lol!
Oct-28-14  ajile: The sequence 12. e3 Rad8 13. Ne2 Rfe8 14. Nf4 Bc8 allows Black easy development to connect rooks etc. Not sure what White was thinking with the timid 12.e3 when 12.Ng5 was available.

I would have liked the players to finish this game also and not draw so quickly.
