Nov-26-14  Nerwal: Jobava displayed his usual great creativity after 28... ♕f3 but his position was already beyond repair.

16. ♗xd5 was curious considering the rest of the game; but maybe 16. ♗a2 and 16. ♗d3 do not fully solve either the problems on the light squares.

HeMateMe: What a strange game. White voluntarily entombs his LSB.
Sep-05-16  fispok: I think Jobava missed 31.Qg5; unless theres a perpetual threat that I'm not seeing, I think his mating attack is stronger, as he'll only need a single turn that isn't a check.
Sep-06-16  Rookiepawn: <flspok> if you mean 32. Qg5, I agree. Black B will remain blocked for two moves at least, and White seems to threat too much.

Sep-06-16  Nerwal: After 32. ♕g5 ♖a1+ 33. ♔h2 ♕f3 Black has a mate and White hasn't. That's probably why Jobava tried to control a1 with 32. d5.

Gee, that's true. "Threatening too much" is not enough, the BK wriggles out of checks.
