What an **incredible** game by Lu.

Penguincw: I agree, especially with that creative queen sacrifice and then a knight sacrifice.

<Penguincw: I agree, especially with that creative queen sacrifice and then a knight sacrifice>

The ending is just unbelievable.

Jul-21-15  nezhmet: Bizarre play by Kobalia bypassing the normal 5. Bxd7+ with a safe, small edge.

Korora: Another ear worm for a pun.
Oct-12-24  goodevans: Two Rs for a Q hardly counts as a "queen sacrifice" and the knight sacrifice to create the unstoppable passed pawn, whilst very nice, wasn't Earth shattering.

Don't get me wrong, I thing it's a very good game well worth playing through. Just not quite worthy of the hyperbolic plaudits.

As for the pun, I too have that dreadful earworm. Aargh!

offramp: Today's confection was a creation by the great User: FairyPromotion.

She has only kibitzed 6 times since 2019. No doubt she has been feverishly mining in the pun-quarries, like Alberich in <The Ring>.

She eventually discovered the pun which is now exposed to you now. It is the pun on the name <Lu> and the word <Loo>. <NO> not a British loo. That is a bog.

The song <Skip to My Loo> is a 14th century traditional melody written by <Ye Goode Olde Anarchist> of Brummaghem <AL>.

I have awarded this Pun ⭐/5.

I thought of sending it to HISPIDU but I didn't bother.

Oct-12-24  Shamot: I think 36.Rxg6+ followed by 37.Qg4 would have been much better for white.

FSR: Cool game. 34...Nf5! was a very unusual tactic.
Oct-12-24  ahmed566: Fantastic game by lu,he is a clever player that had a wider knowledge than the opponent in the endgame So it is a worthy win
Oct-12-24  stone free or die: White played a bit loose and fast letting his pieces get uncoordinated with 33.Rc6 (when 33.Rd5 is preferred).

I don't think I'd call Black's play a "real" sacrifice as the knight immediately attacks White's queen (and BxN is disallowed by ...QxR)

(Else all 2R for Q combos could / should be deemed sacrifices)

Oct-13-24  FairyPromotion: Word on the streets is that kibitzers who manage to satisfy The Pun Police are being recruited to negociate with terrorists.

<<Skip to my Lou>> is a game of <partner swapping>, and in the game white gives up his queen and by the end of the game he is about to get a new one. Partner swapping games and dances are all types of the <Square Dance>, which can count as a pun for a chess game by default.

Not saying that this was the most inspired pun, but at least there were a couple of layers to the lasagna.

I invite The Pun Police to do their job in the Pun Voting Booths, and suggest better puns when they speak to the public. Empty statements about earworms won't keep our homepages safe.
