Oct-19-15  Bruce Graham: Wild game. Neither side castled or touched their queen rook!
Oct-19-15  Conrad93: This game is actually based on another game played this year at Tradewise Gibraltar. The game is A Baert vs E Sanchez Jerez, 2015.

In that game black won in only 20 moves.

7...Be6?! isn't a good novelty. Black can does fine without it as proved by Emilio Jerez.

Domdaniel: <Conrad> That's a very interesting analysis. Having played through both games - and as a regular player of the Dutch myself - I suspect that this whole line just isn't very good for Black, and that there are better ways of meeting White's h4-h5.

In the game Sandipan, Chanda vs. Bartel, Mateusz, 2009 black tried a different approach.

He played 7...Qd7!? and managed to get a decent position without veering into tactical complications.

White played 8. Nh3 Arguably one of the strongest moves against this line, since white is threatening both Nh3-Nf4 and Ng5!-Qxh5+.

8...Kd8! Avoiding the checks. 9. Ng5! Qe8 10. Be2 (e5!?)

10...h6! 11. Nh3 Bg7 Maybe 11...fxe4 is better as it stops any potential pawn breaks on e5.

12. Nf4!? and now 12...fxe4 (not played in the game. Black actually lost) 13. Bxh5 Qg8! gives black a solid position, even though black is severely behind in development by playing moves like Nc6-Bd7-Kc8-b6 he may manage to survive into a favorable endgame.

Oct-26-15  Conrad93: I like the approach in the game A Baert vs E Sanchez Jerez, 2015 best because it avoids the hassle of trying to find the right square for the queen, and it also allows the king to arrive to the queenside much quicker than usual. In the 7...Qd7 line you avoid many potential tactical blows, but in return you get a solid, but very passive position.
Oct-27-15  paramount: oh wow really nice game
