sachistu: Does anyone (<Paarhufer> perhaps?) have access to the Algemeen Handlesblad for 1927? Chessbase gives a different finish e.g. 28.R7d3 Ree8 citing Algemeen Handelsblad Nov 17 1927. While the Chessbase source references are often correct, the people at Chessbase apparently do not check the score in the quoted source against the score Chessbase uses in its database. I have found instances where the scores do not match. Any help is appreciated.
Apr-17-17  Paarhufer: <sachistu> Guessed correctly. But everyone has access via the wonderful world of www.delpher.nl. Please choose 'Kranten' under 'Doorzoek alles', then choose 'Uitgebreid zoeken' and follow your instincts.

I've just checked very, very briefly the two issues of AH of Nov 17 1927, but I saw no chess game at all. You have to check it carefully yourself.

Another newspaper of that day preferred Rd8: http://resolver.kb.nl/resolve?urn=d...

The difference between an 8 and a 3 is possibly very small ...

sachistu: Thanks for the link <Paarhufer>. Am still learning to navigate that site, but I finally found the Nov 17 page of AH. I also found the Het Volk article. Both used the 'long-form' notation, so I can see how someone at Chessbase misinterpreted 28.Rd7-d8 as 28.Rd7-d3. As you pointed out, the '8' could look like a '3', but it's clear both papers had 28.Rd7-d8, so issue resolved. Thanks!
