An Englishman: Good Evening: 5...d5 is an astonishing idea that only dates back to 2011, and the game leaves theory as early as move 9--which means that Black's pawn sacrifice might have improvised on the spot. Despite doubts about the soundness of Bologan's gambit, one can't help but admire his boldness.

HeMateMe: I certainly like the gambit. White had to return the pawn. white wasn't able to safely castle and got pulled apart in the middle of the board.
Jul-29-16  SimplicityRichard: I feel after 3 losses in this tournament Bologan had nothing to lose and probably relaxed and decided to play energetically. The result is this brilliant and inspiring Ruy Lopez that deviates from theory quite early on! My game of the tournament is this one.#
Jul-29-16  dnp: just quickly ran through this. What a nice game, it seems that Bologan enjoyed this one. Certainly not dull.
Jul-29-16  SimplicityRichard: And according to Stockfish 7, there is nothing really to call upon the soundness of this gambit in the ensuing variations; it appears perfectly reasonable.#
Jul-30-16  widjaja70: Why White play 17. Ke2... What would come up if White play 17. 0-0 ?
