Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-03-16  optimal play: Okay, so Linda was the only member of the Taiwanese womens team who didn't play all the way to checkmate!

That must be why they stuck her on board four!

She's a spoilsport!

She just had to stop and resign one move short so she could say to the other three girls, "Oh, well, at least I didn't get checkmated!"

Admittedly the pressure on her to play 29...Rxe8 must have been incredible, but she managed to resist it!

The little 13 year old Hung-Ling Cho on board 1 played right to the end

Hung-Ling Cho vs Thu Giang Nguyen, 2016

As did their compatriot Ching-An Shih on board 2

E Guo vs Ching-An Shih, 2016

And how about Ingrid Wu on board 3?!

Ingrid Wu vs B Dekic, 2016

I mean ... come on ... if Ingrid can be so fanatical as to go all the way to checkmate in her game, then surely Linda can play just one more move?!

Sheesh!

She must have copped heaps from the rest of the girls after this!

What a slacker!
