Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-03-17  luzhin: Black's homework was better than White's! All these moves, up to and including the decisive 17...Nf3! had been seen before in Sparwel v Mihajlov 2013. The first deviation in this game was 20...Qg4 (not that it matters).
Jan-04-17  WorstPlayerEver: Lol, I just guess they both knew the variation. Because it matters a lot that Black did not play 20... Qg4.

One can't just say: "I have seen the variation, but I didn't *notice* 20... Qg4."

Simply because one can't play all that clever and then play 20... Qf6. Seems a cover up which still wins, obviously.

By the way, it's most unlikely that a player like Mahadevan would choose for a very defensive 2000-2100 setup with White against a 2450 player.

Jan-05-17  Shams: Great, he is booked to the gills now too. This kid is a balrog.
Jan-05-17  vonKrolock: There's a game D. Batsuren vs R Praggnanandaa, Ulaanbaatar 2016 After 16...Qf2

17.Ne4! Qf5! (only move) 18.Ng3 Qf6 19.Bd3 1/2-1/2 ... Well, 17.Bf1 is a mistake, that Mahadevan would not commit if he knew O Sparwel vs S Mihajlov, 2013

Jan-06-17  WorstPlayerEver: <vonKrolock>

Then both kids didn't know the variation.. one wonders what they are doing during the day..

Jan-06-17  vonKrolock: I would say that Praggna passed grade and that Mahadevan will go to Summer School ...
