Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-08-17  RookFile: I think that castling queenside with black is definitely the way to go. I've been rolled up too many times castling the other way.
Apr-08-17  paavoh: Onischuk played a very disciplined end game. 21.- Qg5 was a great move that captured the advantage.
Apr-09-17  CountryGirl: Really tough endgame. Onischuk deserves much credit.
Apr-10-17  Ulhumbrus: 20 f4 looks like an admission that White has been unable to arrange the advance e3-e4. One possible reason is that in the event of e4 Nakamura wants his pawn centre to become a weapon instead of a target.
Oct-21-24  paulthebox: Onichuk surely won the opening but 27… Qf4 allowed Naka some nasty tactics. Instead 27… gxf5 28. Nf3 Qg6 29. Nxh2 fxg4+ 30. Ka1 Rxh2 would have been a strong exchange sac. White could have played 31. d5! as after 31… cxd5? 32. Qe5 the double threat 33. Qxh2 and 33. Nb5 Rc8 34. Nc7 Rxc7 35. Qxe6 is winning. 33. Nxd5 is a grave error, possibly missing 33… Qg7 or its mate threat.
