Kibitzer's Corner
May-30-17  catlover: I'm sure 24 Qxg5 must have come as a surprise, but I wonder if Stathopolous was shell-shocked and missed some better responses.

Looks like he would have been better off playing 24...Kg7. If the game continued 26. Bxf6+ Qxf6 27. Rxf6 Kxf6 28. Nd5+ Bxd5 29. exd5, black doesn't look too bad off.

Jun-02-17  Zenchess: Kg7?? is illegal. The White Bishop controls that square.
Jun-02-17  User not found: I think he must have meant kh7.
Jun-04-17  Ian McGarrett: It's pretty obvious catlover meant 25...Kg7, but why would white play 28.Nd5+ when there is a pawn hanging on b5?
Jun-04-17  User not found: Because if black can play an illegal move white may as well play something daft.
