Aug-10-17  Marmot PFL: Black has some weak pawns but also the only passed pawn.
Aug-10-17  Nina Myers: Wes. So's 4th defeat to be found in the pipeline
Aug-10-17  Boomie: Black is in a bit of trouble as his weak pawns are tasty morsels. Doesn't look like both b5 and e6 can be defended, for example.
Aug-10-17  not not: Noeytegem should join this game to his collection titled "i will make your pawns look like your grandmothers teeth"
Aug-10-17  devere: According to Stockfish Wesley So just made a mistake with 45...Na6, and after 46.Rc8, which he played, Karjakin has a good chance of winning.
Aug-10-17  Absentee: I was about to write that with this much time on the clock Black should be able to hold, but So seems intent in committing suicide.
Aug-10-17  ChessHigherCat: or the black rook has b7, too, but that loses a tempo with c6 right away

WannaBe: +1.46 according to CG's Lock Stock & Two Smoking Fish.
Aug-10-17  ChessHigherCat: Rc8 is a mysterious moof. Maybe the idea is that if Naxc5 dxc5 the Black rook has no where to go except a6 and then c6/c7 Rxh8+ c8=Q
Aug-10-17  Nina Myers: It looks very bad for the man
Aug-10-17  not not: Notyetagm i meant, he had nice collection here on shattered pawn structures
Aug-10-17  ChessHigherCat: Nd6 Rb8?
Aug-10-17  ChessHigherCat: <Nina Meyers> Which one is the man? Do you know something we don't know? :-)
Aug-10-17  john barleycorn: the Anti-Giri or how not to draw
Aug-10-17  Nina Myers: During the last days So frequently lost consciousness, in the intervals he could be heard saying short ejaculatory prayers.
Aug-10-17  not not: He always thanks "Lord" for winning. What about losing? I mean, do you thank Lord or blame Lord or what? He is about to lose 4th game in same tournament, thats unusual for him
Aug-10-17  ChessHigherCat: That's pawn snatching in the first degree, now So deserves to lose
Aug-10-17  Absentee: Maybe he's just trying to grab enough pawns to make up for a Queen.
Aug-10-17  Nina Myers: The loss of energy from jetlag is also a factor not to be under estimated.
Aug-10-17  devere: Karjakin did not see the win with 52.c7 Rc2 53.Nd7, so now he will have to work harder.
Aug-10-17  Absentee: <devere: Karjakin did not see the win with 52.c7 Rc2 53.Nd7, so now he will have to work harder.>

Thankfully there's So there to lend him a hand.

Aug-10-17  Marmot PFL: A player can win quickly or torture the opponent and here white takes the second path. Probably he is tired after a long event and wants to take a sure win without worrying about the number of moves.
Aug-10-17  Boomie: When a player is this out of form, it usually means a personal trauma. Nobody wants to see this happen to such a fine player. I hope whatever is troubling him is resolved soon.
Aug-10-17  technical win: But there were quite a few more criteria to fulfill in order to win in the technical evaluation process.
Aug-10-17  Marmot PFL: Yes it's not so easy for the WK to escape the checks
