Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-13-17  Roark: Nice play by Kramnik; playing on and wanting more. Very classly play.
Oct-14-17  JPi: Yes at this European Club Cup, playing 3 times always with Black, Vladimir Kramnik with somewhat insipid but solid defences got some initiative. I'm asking why he doesn't use more agressive defences as he used when he was 20^25 years old like Sicilian and Slav defences?
Oct-14-17  john barleycorn: <JPi: ... why he doesn't use more agressive defences as he used when he was 20^25 years old ...>

Oct-14-17  JPi: One idea could be 25...h4!? putting more tension on the board that the text. After 26.dxe fxe Black rook has a useful file 27...Rf8 Else 26.gxh? exd 27.exd Qg6+ or 26.d6?! h3 (Threatening Qc1+) 27.Rf1 Qc3 (28...Qf3) 28.e5 a4 29...a3 Black pawns a3 and h3 seem more effective than White center pawns d6-e5.
Oct-24-17  whiteshark: Looks more like a <Semi-Tarrasch Defense. Exchange Variation> D41!
